In fifth grade, living in a small suburb of Milwaukee, I had a best friend named Brayton.

At the end of elementary school, we were separated, with Brayton going to a private middle school, and me going to a public school. During our time apart, we made our own friends and joined our own friend groups. When we got to high school, I was reunited with Brayton. We were going to the same school once again, along with our new friend groups. Shockingly, our friend groups were actually well acquainted! As it turns out, the entire time we went to separate middle schools, we were running in the same friend circle, just parallel.
